Art. 29, 30 and 59 ff. OG; jurisdictional amount in dispute and set-off: the value of the subject-matter is determined by the plaintiff's claim and the relief requested. A counterclaim invoked solely as a compensation defence does not increase the amount in dispute beyond the principal claim; for jurisdictional purposes it is relevant only up to that amount. Where the statutory threshold is not reached, the Federal Court lacks competence and must not enter into the appeal (consid. 2).
