dal Giudice delegato del Tribunale amministrativo del Cantone Ticino.
che il 12 marzo 2009 A.________, nato nel 1927, ha circolato nell'abitato di Zurigo a una velocità punibile accertata tramite rilevamento radar di 71 km/h, laddove vige un limite generale di 50 km/h;
che il 15 giugno 2009, lo "Statthalteramt" del Distretto di Zurigo gli ha pertanto inflitto una multa di fr. 520.--: questa decisione è cresciuta in giudicato e l'automobilista ha pagato la multa e le relative spese;
che, preso atto del giudizio penale, il 15 aprile 2013 la Sezione della circolazione ha revocato all'interessato la licenza di condurre per la durata minima di un mese, decisione confermata il 19 giugno 2013 dal Consiglio di Stato del Cantone Ticino e, con sentenza del 27 agosto 2013, dal Giudice delegato del Tribunale cantonale amministrativo;
che avverso la decisione della Corte cantonale A.________ inoltra un "ricorso" al Tribunale federale, chiedendo in sostanza, prorogato il termine di ricorso stabilito dalla legge, di annullarla;
che il Tribunale federale ha comunicato al ricorrente che il termine di ricorso perentorio di 30 giorni, stabilito dalla legge (art. 100 cpv. 1 LTF), non può essere prorogato (art. 47 cpv. 1 LTF);
che il ricorrente non ha completato il suo gravame entro tale termine;
che il Tribunale federale esamina d'ufficio se e in che misura un ricorso può essere esaminato nel merito (DTF 138 I 367 consid. 1);
che il ricorso deve contenere le conclusioni, i motivi e l'indicazione dei mezzi di prova (art. 42 cpv. 1 LTF) e dev'essere motivato in modo sufficiente, spiegando nei motivi perché e in che misura l'atto impugnato viola il diritto (cpv. 2; DTF 136 I 49 consid. 1.4.1);
che in concreto queste esigenze di motivazione sono manifestamente disattese, ritenuto che il ricorrente, limitandosi in sostanza ad addurre di non aver potuto prendere conoscenza della decisione penale di condanna, sebbene abbia pagato la multa e le relative spese, non si confronta del tutto con i diversi motivi posti a fondamento del giudizio impugnato, nell'ambito del quale è stata trattata anche la citata censura;
che pertanto il ricorso, manifestamente non motivato in modo sufficiente, non può essere esaminato nel merito e può essere deciso sulla base della procedura semplificata dell'art. 108 cpv. 1 lett. b LTF;
che le spese seguono la soccombenza (art. 66 cpv. 1 LTF);
Il ricorso è inammissibile.
Le spese giudiziarie di fr. 300.-- sono poste a carico del ricorrente.
Comunicazione al ricorrente, alla Sezione della circolazione, al Consiglio di Stato e al Tribunale amministrativo del Cantone Ticino.
