The file was forwarded to the Federal Supreme Court, which opened proceedings and requested an advance of costs. The Federal Supreme Court therefore struck the case from its docket and ordered the file returned for transmission to the cantonal court. No court costs were levied.

Violation grave des règles de la circulation,

recours contre le jugement du Tribunal d'arrondissement de Lausanne, Tribunal de police, du 29 février 2008.

Considérant :
que par un jugement du 29 février 2008, le Tribunal de police de l'arrondissement de Lausanne a confirmé la condamnation de X.________ pour une violation grave des règles de la circulation (excès de vitesse),
qu'au pied du jugement, deux voies de recours sont indiquées (recours en matière pénale au Tribunal fédéral et recours à la Cour de cassation pénale du Tribunal cantonal vaudois),
que le 4 mars 2008, le condamné a déposé un recours au greffe du Tribunal d'arrondissement sans préciser s'il était destiné au Tribunal fédéral ou au Tribunal cantonal,
que le Tribunal d'arrondissement a fait suivre le dossier au Tribunal fédéral qui a ouvert une procédure et a demandé une avance de frais au recourant,
que celui-ci a exposé, par une lettre datée du 16 avril 2008, que sa volonté n'était pas de saisir le Tribunal fédéral, mais de recourir au Tribunal pénal cantonal,
qu'il se justifie dès lors de rayer la cause du rôle du Tribunal fédéral et de retourner le dossier au Tribunal d'arrondissement en vue de sa transmission au Tribunal cantonal vaudois.

Par ces motifs, le Président ordonne:

La cause est rayée du rôle.

Il n'est pas perçu de frais judiciaires.

3.
La présente ordonnance est communiquée aux parties et au Tribunal d'arrondissement de Lausanne, Tribunal de police.
