Considérant en fait et en droit:

Par arrêt du 13 août 2012 (cause 8C_506/2012), rendu selon la procédure simplifiée de l'art. 108 LTF, le Tribunal fédéral a déclaré irrecevable le recours formé par S.________ contre un jugement du 30 mai 2012 de la Cour administrative du Tribunal cantonal vaudois rejetant un recours dirigé contre une décision du 16 décembre 2011 par laquelle le Service de prévoyance et d'aide sociales du canton de Vaud avait confirmé la suppression de l'aide financière accordée à l'intéressé sous forme de revenu d'insertion (RI).

Le 12 octobre 2012, S.________ a présenté une demande de révision de cet arrêt « nach Artikel 123 Abs. 1 der Verfahrensordnung (LTF) ».

Ladite demande ne satisfait en rien aux exigences de motivation résultant de l'art. 42 LTF et des art. 121 ss LTF. On y cherche en vain l'énoncé précis d'un quelconque motif de révision au sens des art. 121 et 123 LTF. En particulier, le seul fait que le Tribunal fédéral n'aurait pas appliqué une convention internationale - convention dont on ne voit au demeurant pas en quoi elle eût été pertinente dans cette procédure - n'est pas un motif de révision. Aussi n'y a-t-il pas lieu de procéder à un échange d'écritures (art. 127 LTF).

Il s'ensuit que la demande de révision est irrecevable. Cela étant, au vu des circonstances, il convient de renoncer à la perception des frais judiciaires (art. 66 al. 1, 2ème phrase, LTF).

La demande de révision est irrecevable.

Il n'est pas perçu de frais judiciaires.

Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties et à la Cour administrative du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud.
