# COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) No 2004/2006 of 22 December 2006 amending Regulation (EEC) No 2273/93 determining the intervention centres for cereals, and adapting the said regulation due to the accession of Bulgaria and Romania ## Preamble THE COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community, Having regard to the Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria and Romania, and in particular Article 4(3) thereof Having regard to the Act of Accession of Bulgaria and Romania, and in particular Article 56 thereof, Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 1784/2003 of 29 September 2003 on the common organisation of the market in cereals [^1] , and in particular Article 6(a) thereof, Whereas: **(1)** A number of Member States have submitted requests to make amendments to some of centres for cereals listed in the Annex to Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2273/93 [^2] with a view to improving their location or responding better to the conditions required. Their requests should be granted. **(2)** In view of the accession of Bulgaria and Romania, the intervention centres must be determined for those new Member States and be listed in Regulation (EEC) No 2273/93. **(3)** Regulation (EEC) No 2273/93 should therefore be amended accordingly. **(4)** The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Management Committee for Cereals, HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION: ## **Article 1** The Annex to Regulation (EEC) No 2273/93 is hereby amended in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation. ## **Article 2** This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day following that of its publication in the *Official Journal of the European Union* . It shall apply from 1 January 2007. However, points 1, 2 and 6 of the Annex apply subject to and from the date of the entry into force of the Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria and Romania. ## Final provisions This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
