In order to conduct border controls, to combat illegal migration or to enforce return decisions, air carriers must on request provide the authorities responsible for border controls with passenger lists.
The passenger lists must contain the following data:
surname, first name(s), address, date of birth, nationality and passport number of the persons being carried;
airport of departure, transfer airports and airport of destination;
details of the travel agent through which the flight was booked.
The duty to provide the passenger lists ends six months after the flight takes place.
The authority responsible for border controls shall delete the data within 72 hours of receipt.
