Additional information in connection with an alert in accordance with Article 68a paragraphs 1 and 2 shall be exchanged between the Schengen States via the contact, coordination and consultation point for the exchange of information in connection with alerts in the SIS (SIRENE Office).
If the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security1and the cantonal police authorities responsible for controlling the Schengen external borders or in Switzerland establish that a third-country national subject to an alert from another Schengen State for the purpose of return has not complied with their obligation to return, they shall notify the SIRENE Office.
If a consultation with the competent authorities of other Schengen States is required in connection with an alert in the SIS, this shall take place via the SIRENE Office.
