The Federal Chancellor is the chief of staff of the Federal Council.
The Federal Chancellor:
1. supports the President of the Confederation and the Federal Council in the fulfilment of their tasks;
2. fulfils the responsibilities to the Federal Assembly assigned to him or her by the Constitution and the law.
