  1. Full and final settlement of the child’s maintenance entitlement may be agreed if it is in the child’s best interests.
  2. The settlement agreement becomes binding on the child only:
  3. once the child protection authority or, in the case of an agreement reached during court proceedings, the court has approved it, and
  4. once the settlement amount has been paid into the account designated in the approval.
