  1. The Federal Council may provide for measures to reduce antimicrobial resistance, in particular:
    1. measures to reduce antibiotic consumption and promote animal health;
    2. requirements for the training and further education of veterinarians and livestock holders.
  2. It may also restrict or prohibit the use of certain antibiotic agents in veterinary medicine in accordance with foreign regulations if this appears necessary for the effective treatment of patients.
