Waters and the space provided for waters must be developed and maintained in such a way that habitats typical of the location are preserved and able to develop. habitats typical of the location are based on:
vegetation that develops naturally and regenerates itself;
characteristic dynamic processes;
characteristic structures, such as gravel bars, natural and variable banks and deadwood.
When developing and maintaining waters and the space provided for waters excessive warming of the water must be avoided. In particular, natural shade should be encouraged.
