Zuständig für die Festsetzung und Auszahlung der Renten von Ehepaaren ist die Ausgleichskasse, welcher die Auszahlung der Rente des Ehegatten obliegt, der die Altersrente zuerst bezieht; Artikel 62 Absatz 2 bleibt vorbehalten. Der Bundesrat regelt das Verfahren.
