Die Zentrale Ausgleichsstelle nach Artikel 71 AHVG1führt ein Informationssystem zur Bearbeitung von Daten im Bereich Ergänzungsleistungen (EL-Informationssystem), insbesondere um Transparenz über bezogene Ergänzungsleistungen herzustellen und die Stellen nach Artikel 21 Absatz 2 beim Vollzug dieses Gesetzes zu unterstützen.
