Tiere der Rindergattung ab einem nachweislichen oder vermuteten Alter von 48 Monaten sind auf verändertes Prion-Protein zu untersuchen, wenn sie:

  1. umgestanden sind;
  2. nicht zum Zweck der Schlachtung getötet worden sind;
  3. krank oder verunfallt zur Schlachtung gebracht worden sind.
