Financial assistance and compensatory payments are only provided by the Confederation if:

1. the measures comply with the forestry planning;
2. the measures are necessary and appropriate;
3. the measures satisfy the applicable technical, economic and ecological requirements;
4. the other requirements of federal law are fulfilled;
5. coordination with the public interests of other sectors is ensured;
6. further maintenance is guaranteed.
