dal Tribunale amministrativo del Cantone Ticino.
considerando:
che con scritto 4 dicembre 2007 il Municipio di X.________ ha confermato a A.________ di avere avuto un incontro con suo fratello B.________;
che il 26 ottobre 2009 A.________ ha chiesto al Municipio di riferirgli i contenuti di detto incontro, riguardante problematiche familiari;
che il 25 novembre 2009 il Municipio ha comunicato all'istante che le sue richieste erano state sottoposte alla Sezione degli enti locali per un parere giuridico, per cui avrebbe preso posizione in merito in seguito;
che con decisione del 12 gennaio 2010 il Consiglio di Stato ha dichiarato irricevibile un'impugnativa sottopostagli dall'interessato, poiché la risposta municipale non costituisce una decisione impugnabile, tesi confermata con giudizio del 18 marzo 2010 anche dal Tribunale cantonale amministrativo;
che avverso questa sentenza l'11 maggio 2010 A.________ presenta un ricorso (in materia di diritto pubblico) al Tribunale federale, chiedendo di annullarla e formulando ulteriori richieste;
che non sono state chieste osservazioni;
che il Tribunale federale esamina d'ufficio se e in che misura un ricorso può essere esaminato nel merito (DTF 135 III 483 consid. 1);
che, come già nella causa 1C_145/2010 del 26 aprile 2010, il ricorrente non si confronta affatto con la motivazione posta a fondamento dell'impugnato giudizio, segnatamente con la tesi secondo cui la risposta municipale, con la quale viene informato del fatto che le sue lettere sono state trasmesse all'autorità di vigilanza per un parere giuridico, non integra gli estremi di una decisione impugnabile, costituendo una semplice comunicazione non comportante particolari effetti giuridici;
che pertanto il ricorso, manifestamente non motivato (art. 42 cpv. 2 LTF), dev'essere dichiarato inammissibile, per i motivi già esposti nella sentenza 1C_145/2010, e può essere deciso sulla base della procedura semplificata dell'art. 108 cpv. 1 lett. b LTF;
che le spese seguono la soccombenza (art. 66 cpv. 1 LTF);
per questi motivi, il Presidente pronuncia:

Il ricorso è inammissibile.
2.
Le spese giudiziarie di fr. 500.-- sono poste a carico del ricorrente.
3.
Comunicazione al ricorrente, al Municipio di X.________, al Dipartimento delle istituzioni, al Consiglio di Stato e al Tribunale amministrativo del Cantone Ticino.
