Der Beschwerdeführer hat den Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 4'000.-- innert der mit Verfügung vom 11. September 2007 angesetzten Nachfrist bis zum 26. September 2007 nicht geleistet. Auf die Beschwerde ist daher im vereinfachten Verfahren nicht einzutreten (Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG und Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG). Wenn es an einer Eintretensvoraussetzung fehlt, bleibt der am 2. Oktober 2007 erklärte Rückzug der Beschwerde ohne Bedeutung.
Die Instruktionsrichterin erkennt:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

Die Gerichtsgebühr von Fr. 500.-- wird dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
