In Erwägung,
dass der Einzelrichter des Bezirksgerichts Zürich den Beschwerdeführern auf Gesuch der Beschwerdegegnerin mit Verfügung vom 6. August 2008 befahl, die gemieteten Räumlichkeiten (4-Zimmerwohnung im 3. OG, links) in der Liegenschaft E.________ unverzüglich zu räumen und der Beschwerdegegnerin zu übergeben, unter der Androhung von Zwangsvollstreckung im Unterlassungsfall;
dass das Obergericht des Kantons Zürich den von den Beschwerdeführern gegen diese Verfügung erhobenen Rekurs mit Beschluss vom 30. September 2008 abwies und die erstinstanzliche Verfügung bestätigte;
dass das Kassationsgericht des Kantons Zürich die gegen den Beschluss des Obergerichts eingereichte Nichtigkeitsbeschwerde der Beschwerdeführer mit Zirkulationsbeschluss vom 9. Dezember 2008 abwies, soweit es darauf eintrat;
dass die Beschwerdeführer dem Bundesgericht eine vom 15. Januar 2009 datierte Eingabe einreichten, aus der abgeleitet werden kann, dass sie die Entscheide des Obergerichts und des Kassationsgerichts des Kantons Zürich mit Beschwerde anfechten wollen;
dass auf die Beschwerde von vornherein nicht einzutreten ist, soweit auch die Verfügung des Einzelrichters des Bezirksgerichts Zürich vom 6. August 2008 kritisiert wird, da es sich bei dieser Verfügung nicht um einen kantonal letztinstanzlichen Entscheid im Sinne von Art. 75 Abs. 1 BGG handelt;
dass die Beschwerde in Zivilsachen nach Art. 72 ff. BGG nicht erhoben werden kann, weil der erforderliche Mindeststreitwert von Fr. 15'000.-- (Art. 74 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG) nicht erreicht wird und sich keine Rechtsfrage von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung im Sinne von Art. 74 Abs. 2 lit. a BGG stellt;
dass die Eingabe der Beschwerdeführer unter diesen Umständen als subsidiäre Verfassungsbeschwerde im Sinne der Art. 113 ff. BGG behandelt werden muss;
dass mit einer solchen Beschwerde ausschliesslich die Verletzung von verfassungsmässigen Rechten gerügt werden kann (Art. 116 BGG);
dass in der Beschwerdeschrift dargelegt werden muss, welche verfassungsmässigen Rechte durch die kantonalen Gerichte verletzt worden sind, und solche Rügen unter Bezugnahme auf die Erwägungen der angefochtenen Entscheide zu begründen sind (Art. 42 Abs. 2 und Art. 106 Abs. 2 in Verbindung mit Art. 117 BGG);
dass die Beschwerdeführer in der Beschwerdeschrift zwar verschiedene Bestimmungen der Bundesverfassung erwähnen, jedoch nicht unter Bezugnahme auf die Erwägungen des Obergerichts oder des Kassationsgerichts auf verständliche Weise darlegen, inwiefern diese Gerichte die angerufenen Bestimmungen verletzt haben sollen;
dass die Eingabe der Beschwerdeführer vom 15. Januar 2009 die erwähnten Begründungsanforderungen somit nicht erfüllt, weshalb auf die Beschwerde in Anwendung von Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG nicht eingetreten werden kann;
dass mit dem Entscheid in der Sache das von den Beschwerdeführern gestellte Gesuch um Gewährung der aufschiebenden Wirkung gegenstandslos wird;
dass unter den gegebenen Umständen auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten zu verzichten ist (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG), womit das Gesuch um Befreiung von diesen Kosten gegenstandslos wird;
erkennt die Präsidentin:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Kassationsgericht des Kantons Zürich und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, II. Zivilkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
