que par acte du 17 mars 2008, S.________ a transmis au Tribunal fédéral un jugement du 18 septembre 2007 du Tribunal des assurances du canton de Vaud;

qu'elle expose qu'elle n'est pas d'accord avec ce jugement, mais qu'avant de recourir, elle aimerait savoir si elle obtiendra gain de cause et surtout si elle sera exposée à des frais importants;

qu'aux termes de l'art. 42 LTF, auquel le Tribunal fédéral a rendu S.________ attentive, les mémoires de recours doivent être rédigés dans une langue officielle, indiquer les conclusions, les motifs et les moyens de preuve, et être signés;

que les motifs doivent exposer succinctement en quoi l'acte attaqué viole le droit;

que la volonté de recourir de S.________ ne ressort pas clairement de l'acte du 17 mars 2008, qui ne contient par ailleurs aucune conclusion et dont la motivation ne répond pas aux exigences de l'art. 42 LTF;

que par conséquent, l'acte du 17 mars 2008, dans la mesure où il constitue un recours, est irrecevable;

qu'il n'y a pas lieu de percevoir des frais de justice (art. 66 al. 1, 2ème phrase, LTF),

par ces motifs, le Juge unique prononce:

Il n'est pas entré en matière sur l'écriture du 17 mars 2008.

Il n'est pas perçu de frais judiciaires.
