The complainant challenged alleged delay and denial of justice by the Zurich public prosecutor in an ongoing criminal investigation and filed the matter directly with the Federal Supreme Court. The Court held that such complaints must first be brought before the cantonal appellate authority, so the direct complaint bypassed the required instance and was inadmissible. Because the filing was obviously hopeless, the request for legal aid and appointed counsel was denied. In view of the circumstances, no court costs were levied.

In Erwägung,
dass X.________ der Staatsanwaltschaft I (Staatsanwalt A.________) in einer ihn betreffenden Strafuntersuchung Rechtsverzögerung bzw. Rechtsverweigerung vorwirft;

dass gegen Verfügungen der Staatsanwaltschaft bzw. in Bezug auf ihr zur Last gelegte Rechtsverzögerung bzw. Rechtsverweigerung nicht direkt die Beschwerde ans Bundesgericht offen steht, sondern zunächst diejenige an die kantonale Rechtsmittelinstanz (Art. 393 ff. StPO);

dass demgemäss die vorliegende, in Missachtung dieses Instanzenzugs direkt beim Bundesgericht und nicht zunächst bei der kantonalen Rechtsmittelinstanz eingereichte Beschwerde unzulässig ist (Art. 80 BGG);

dass über die somit offensichtlich unzulässige Beschwerde im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG entschieden werden kann;

dass mit dem vorliegenden Urteil das Gesuch um Gewährung der aufschiebenden Wirkung gegenstandslos wird;

dass bei nach dem Gesagten offensichtlich aussichtsloser Beschwerde das Gesuch um Gewährung der unentgeltlichen Prozessführung bzw. amtlichen Verbeiständung abzuweisen ist (Art. 64 BGG);

dass es sich indes bei den gegebenen Verhältnissen rechtfertigt, für das bundesgerichtliche Verfahren keine Kosten zu erheben (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);

wird erkannt:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.

Das Gesuch um Gewährung der unentgeltlichen Rechtspflege bzw. amtlichen Verbeiständung wird abgewiesen.

3.

Es werden keine Kosten erhoben.

4.

Dieses Urteil wird dem Beschwerdeführer und der Staatsanwaltschaft I des Kantons Zürich schriftlich mitgeteilt.
