The Federal Supreme Court dealt with a civil appeal by A.________ AG against an order of the Zurich High Court that had declared its cantonal appeal late. The appellant also attacked the district court judgment, but the Court held that this was not a cantonal final decision and therefore could not be reviewed. As to the cantonal decision, the submission failed to meet the federal requirements of substantiation and constitutional reasoning. The Court therefore issued a non-entry decision in summary procedure and imposed court costs on the appellant.
Art. 75 Abs. 1, Art. 42 Abs. 1, Art. 106 Abs. 2 and Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a-b BGG; admissibility and reasoning of the appeal: only a cantonal decision of last instance may be challenged before the Federal Supreme Court. The appeal must, with reference to the challenged reasoning, specifically indicate which rights were violated; constitutional grievances are examined only if expressly raised and substantiated. A submission that does not engage with the cantonal reasoning or merely criticizes a non-appealable lower-court judgment is manifestly inadmissible and may be disposed of in summary non-entry procedure.

In Erwägung,
dass das Bezirksgericht Pfäffikon die Beschwerdeführerin mit Urteil vom 20. Dezember 2013 zur Zahlung von Fr. 31'089.80 nebst Zins an den Beschwerdegegner verpflichtete;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin dieses Urteil mit Berufung anfocht, auf welche das Obergericht des Kantons Zürich mit Beschluss vom 14. März 2014 wegen Verspätung nicht eintrat;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin dem Bundesgericht eine vom 26. April 2014 datierte Rechtsschrift einreichte, aus der hervorgeht, dass sie gegen den Beschluss des Obergerichts Beschwerde erheben will;
dass auf die Beschwerde von vornherein nicht einzutreten ist, soweit in der Rechtsschrift vom 26. April 2014 das Urteil des Bezirksgerichts Pfäffikon kritisiert wird, weil es sich dabei nicht um einen kantonal letztinstanzlichen Entscheid im Sinne von Art. 75 Abs. 1 BGG handelt;
dass in einer Beschwerde an das Bundesgericht unter Bezugnahme auf die Erwägungen des angefochtenen Entscheides dargelegt werden muss, welche Rechte der beschwerdeführenden Partei durch das kantonale Gericht verletzt worden sind (Art. 42 Abs. 1 BGG), wobei eine allfällige Verletzung der bundesrechtlichen Verfassungsrechte vom Bundesgericht nicht von Amtes wegen geprüft wird, sondern nur dann, wenn solche Rügen in der Beschwerdeschrift ausdrücklich erhoben und begründet werden (Art. 106 Abs. 2 BGG);
dass diese Begründungsanforderungen offensichtlich nicht erfüllt werden, soweit die Beschwerdeführerin in ihrer Rechtsschrift den Beschluss des Obergerichts vom 14. März 2014 kritisiert;
dass aus diesen Gründen auf die Beschwerde im Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a und b BGG nicht einzutreten ist;
dass die Gerichtskosten der Beschwerdeführerin aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, II. Zivilkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.

Whether the appeal could challenge the district court judgment directly
The Federal Supreme Court would not examine criticism of the district court judgment because it was not a cantonal final decision.
Only a decision of the cantonal last instance may be challenged under Art. 75(1) BGG.
Whether the appeal met the federal reasoning requirements against the cantonal decision
The appeal did not satisfy the duty to indicate and substantiate the rights allegedly violated by the cantonal court.
The appellant failed to engage with the reasoning of the challenged decision and did not properly raise or justify constitutional complaints as required by Arts. 42(1) and 106(2) BGG.
Admissibility of the appeal in summary procedure
The appeal was not admitted under the summary non-entry procedure.
The inadmissibility followed from the manifestly deficient challenge under Art. 108(1)(a) and (b) BGG.
