A tenant dispute reached the Federal Supreme Court after the Luzern Cantonal Court rejected the counterclaim. The complainant filed a federal challenge, but the Court held that an ordinary civil-law appeal was unavailable because the dispute value threshold was not met and no fundamental legal question was invoked. Treated as a subsidiary constitutional complaint, the filing still failed because it did not raise sufficiently reasoned constitutional grievances. The Court therefore did not enter into the complaint and imposed court costs of CHF 500 on the complainant, without awarding party compensation to the respondents.

If the value threshold for the civil-law appeal is not reached and no fundamental legal question is alleged, the filing is to be treated as a subsidiary constitutional complaint. Such a remedy permits only grievances of constitutional rights and is subject to strict substantiation: the appellant must identify the specific constitutional rights allegedly violated and, by reference to the reasoning of the challenged decision, set out precisely how the violation occurred. Failing such reasoned submissions, the Court will not enter into the complaint under Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG. Court costs follow the outcome; no party compensation is due where the respondents incurred no expense.

In Erwägung,
dass das Bezirksgericht Kriens mit Urteil vom 25. Januar 2013 die Klage der Beschwerdegegner gegen die Beschwerdeführerin abwies, die Widerklage der Beschwerdeführerin teilweise guthiess und die Beschwerdegegner zur Zahlung von Fr. 6'571.25 verurteilte;
dass die Beschwerdegegner dagegen Berufung einreichten und die Abweisung der Widerklage beantragten;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin mit Anschlussberufung beantragte, die Widerklage sei im vollen Umfang gutzuheissen und die Beschwerdegegner seien zur Zahlung von Fr. 11'664.80 zu verurteilen;
dass das Kantonsgericht des Kantons Luzern mit Urteil vom 28. August 2013 die Widerklage abwies;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin mit Eingaben vom 12. Oktober 2013 und vom 14. Oktober 2013 an das Bundesgericht gelangte und erklärte, das Urteil des Kantonsgerichts anfechten zu wollen;
dass das Bundesgericht von Amtes wegen prüft, ob ein Rechtsmittel zulässig ist (BGE 138 III 471 E. 1; 137 III 417 E. 1; 136 II 101 E. 1);
dass eine Beschwerde in Zivilsachen im vorliegenden Fall nicht zulässig ist, weil der erforderliche Streitwert von Fr. 15'000.-- (Art. 74 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG) nicht erreicht wird und die Beschwerdeführerin nicht geltend macht, es stelle sich eine Rechtsfrage von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung im Sinne vom Art. 74 Abs. 2 lit. a BGG;
dass die Eingabe der Beschwerdeführerin damit als subsidiäre Verfassungsbeschwerde im Sinne von Art. 113 ff. BGG zu behandeln ist;
dass mit einer solchen Beschwerde ausschliesslich die Verletzung von verfassungsmässigen Rechten gerügt werden kann (Art. 116 BGG);
dass in der Beschwerdeschrift dargelegt werden muss, welche verfassungsmässigen Rechte durch das kantonale Gericht verletzt worden sind, und solche Rügen unter Bezugnahme auf die Erwägungen des angefochtenen Entscheides zu begründen sind (Art. 106 Abs. 2 in Verbindung mit Art. 117 BGG);
dass die Beschwerdeführerin keine diesen Begründungsanforderungen genügenden Rügen gegen das Urteil des Kantonsgerichts vorbringt;
dass demnach auf die Beschwerde mangels genügender Begründung im Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG nicht einzutreten ist;
dass die Gerichtskosten dem Verfahrensausgang entsprechend der Beschwerdeführerin aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
dass die Beschwerdegegner keinen Anspruch auf eine Parteientschädigung haben, da ihnen aus dem bundesgerichtlichen Verfahren kein Aufwand erwachsen ist (Art. 68 Abs. 1 BGG);
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.
Es wird keine Parteientschädigung zugesprochen.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Luzern, 1. Abteilung, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
