The Federal Supreme Court did not enter into the constitutional complaint because the appellant failed to pay the ordered advance on costs even after the extended deadline. The court therefore issued a non-entry decision in summary procedure and imposed court costs of CHF 500 on the appellant.
Art. 62 Abs. 3 and Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG; non-payment of the ordered advance on costs after expiry of the granted grace period leads to non-entry in summary procedure. The court has no discretion to examine the appeal on the merits once the statutory precondition is unmet. The consequence of non-entry is the allocation of court costs to the defaulting party under Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG (consid. 1).

dass die Gerichtskosten dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
erkennt die Präsidentin:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und der 1. Zivilkammer des Obergerichts des Kantons Bern schriftlich mitgeteilt.
