The Federal Supreme Court did not enter into the appellant's appeal against the Bern Higher Court judgment because he failed to pay the ordered cost advance even within the additional deadline. The court imposed court costs of CHF 500 on the appellant and notified the parties and the cantonal court in writing.
Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG in conjunction with Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG; failure to pay the court-ordered cost advance within the fixed or extended deadline leads to non-entry on the appeal in summary procedure. Under Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG, the costs are as a rule charged to the party whose appeal is not entered into owing to default in payment.

dass die Gerichtskosten dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Bern, Zivilabteilung, 2. Zivilkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.

No. Because the advance was not paid even during the additional deadline, the court did not enter into the appeal.
Under Art. 62(3) BGG and Art. 108(1)(a) BGG, failure to pay the required advance within the set time limit leads to non-entry.
Allocation of court costs.
The court costs were imposed on the appellant.
As the non-entered appeal failed due to the appellant's default, the costs were charged to him under Art. 66(1) BGG.
