l'ordonnance présidentielle du 29 avril 2010, suspendant l'instruction du recours en matière civile jusqu'à droit connu sur un recours en nullité déposé simultanément auprès de la Chambre des recours du Tribunal cantonal vaudois;
l'arrêt de cette autorité du 13 janvier 2011, admettant le recours cantonal, annulant le jugement attaqué et renvoyant la cause en première instance pour nouvelle instruction et nouvelle décision;
la déclaration de retrait du recours du 1er mars 2011, assortie d'une demande de renonciation aux frais (art. 66 al. 1 in fine LTF) et d'allocation de dépens;
considérant:
qu'il convient de prendre acte du retrait et de rayer la cause du rôle (art. 73 PCF par renvoi de l'art. 71 LTF; art. 32 al. 2 LTF);
que du fait de son désistement, le recourant doit être considéré comme la partie qui succombe au sens de l'art. 66 al 1 LTF, de sorte qu'il doit assumer les frais judiciaires;
qu'il n'y a lieu d'allouer des dépens ni au recourant, qui succombe (art. 68 al. 1 LTF), ni à l'intimée, qui n'a pas été invitée à répondre au recours;
par ces motifs, la Présidente ordonne:

Il est pris acte du retrait du recours et la cause est rayée du rôle.
2.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 500 fr., sont mis à la charge du recourant.
3.
Il n'est pas alloué de dépens.
4.
La présente ordonnance est communiquée aux participants à la procédure et au Tribunal d'arrondissement de La Côte.
