Beschwerde gegen das Schreiben der Staatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Wallis, Zentrales Amt,
vom 19. Dezember 2012 (P3 12 21).

Der Einzelrichter zieht in Erwägung:

Am 26. Oktober 2012 teilte ein Oberstaatsanwalt des Kantons Wallis dem Beschwerdeführer mit, dass in Bezug auf die Äusserung einer Drittperson, die diese am 12. Oktober 2007 dem "Blick" gegenüber getan haben soll, die Verfolgungsverjährung eingetreten ist. Am 27. November 2012 wandte sich der Beschwerdeführer an das Zentrale Amt der Staatsanwaltschaft. Der stellvertretende Generalstaatsanwalt teilte ihm am 19. Dezember 2012 mit, gegen das Vorgehen des Oberstaatsanwaltes sei nichts einzuwenden. Der Beschwerdeführer wendet sich ans Bundesgericht, ohne einen ausdrücklichen Antrag zu stellen.

Es kann offen bleiben, ob das Schreiben des stellvertretenden Generalstaatsanwalts einen anfechtbaren Entscheid darstellt. Für den Ausgang der Sache war entscheidend, dass die angeblich strafbare Äusserung verjährt ist. Dass sie nicht verjährt wäre, behauptet der Beschwerdeführer nicht. Er verweist nur auf den Zeitpunkt, zu welchem er von der Äusserung Kenntnis erhalten hat. Dieser Zeitpunkt spielt bei der Verjährung von Ehrverletzungsdelikten indessen keine Rolle. Auf die Beschwerde ist mangels einer hinreichenden Begründung im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).

Demnach erkennt der Einzelrichter:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird dem Beschwerdeführer und der Staatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Wallis, Zentrales Amt, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
