The Federal Supreme Court had ordered an advance on estimated court costs and warned that failure to pay would result in non-entry. The advance was not paid, and no special reasons for waiving it were established. The court therefore did not enter into the complaint and charged the federal court costs of CHF 800 to the appellant.

Der Präsident zieht in Erwägung:

Die Partei, die das Bundesgericht anruft, hat einen Kostenvorschuss in der Höhe der mutmasslichen Gerichtskosten zu leisten (Art. 62 Abs. 1 Satz 1 BGG). Der Beschwerdeführer ist damit zwar nicht einverstanden (act. 9), es ist aber nicht ersichtlich, dass besondere Gründe im Sinne von Art. 62 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGG vorlägen, um auf den Vorschuss zu verzichten. Dem Beschwerdeführer wurden deshalb mit Verfügungen vom 30. Juni 2008 und 11. Juli 2008 eine Frist bis 18. August 2008 bzw. die in Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG vorgeschriebene Nachfrist bis 29. August 2008 angesetzt, dem Bundesgericht einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 2'000.-- einzuzahlen, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde. Der Kostenvorschuss wurde nicht geleistet. Auf die Beschwerde ist deshalb androhungsgemäss im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).

Demnach erkennt der Präsident:

1.
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Kantonsgericht St. Gallen, Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
