X.________ ist seit dem 30. November 2011 im Strafvollzug. Nachdem er sich ab dem 28. Mai 2013 im offenen Vollzug befand, versetzte ihn der Vollzugs- und Bewährungsdienst des Kantons Zug (VBD) am 19. Dezember 2013 per 23. Dezember 2013 in die Vollzugsstufe des Arbeitsexternats im Wohnheim A.________. Am 12. Februar 2014 wurde das Arbeitsexternat per sofort abgebrochen und X.________ in den geschlossenen Strafvollzug zurückversetzt. Am 17. Februar 2014 hielt der VBD nach Anhörung von X.________ an der Rückversetzung fest. Am 5. März wies der VBD ein Gesuch um bedingte Entlassung ab.
Mit Beschwerde vom 7. März 2014 beantragte X.________ die Aufhebung der Rückversetzung in den geschlossenen Strafvollzug und die Weiterführung des Arbeitsexternats. Mit einer zweiten Beschwerde vom 11. März 2014 beantragte er die bedingte Entlassung auf den 20. März 2014.
Das Verwaltungsgericht des Kantons Zug wies die Beschwerde gegen die Verfügungen vom 12. und 17. Februar 2014 mit Urteil vom 19. Mai 2014 ab. Die Beschwerde gegen die Verfügung vom 5. März 2014 hiess das Gericht insoweit gut, als die Verfügung aufgehoben und die Sache an den VBD zurückgewiesen wurde.
X.________ wendet sich ans Bundesgericht und beantragt, es sei die sofortige bedingte Entlassung anzuordnen.
Die Beschwerde ist nur zulässig gegen Entscheide, die das kantonale Verfahren abschliessen (Art. 90 BGG). In Bezug auf die bedingte Entlassung wies die Vorinstanz die Sache zur weiteren Veranlassung an den VBD zurück. Insoweit ist die Beschwerde unzulässig.
In einer Beschwerde ans Bundesgericht ist darzulegen, inwieweit der angefochtene Entscheid nach Ansicht des Beschwerdeführers das Recht verletzen soll (Art. 42 Abs. 2 BGG). Daraus folgt, dass er sich wenigstens kurz mit den Erwägungen der Vorinstanz auseinandersetzen muss. Soweit der Beschwerdeführer ohne jede Begründung ersucht, das Bundesgericht solle die Rückversetzung in den geschlossenen Strafvollzug überprüfen (Beschwerde S. 2), entspricht die Eingabe den gesetzlichen Vorschriften nicht.
Auf die Beschwerde ist im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten. Bei diesem Ausgang sind die Gerichtskosten dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG). Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege ist in Anwendung von Art. 64 BGG abzuweisen, weil die Rechtsbegehren aussichtslos erschienen. Der finanziellen Lage des Beschwerdeführers ist bei der Bemessung der Gerichtskosten Rechnung zu tragen (Art. 65 Abs. 2 BGG).
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege wird abgewiesen.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Verwaltungsgericht des Kantons Zug, Verwaltungsrechtliche Kammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
