The Federal Supreme Court did not enter into the criminal complaint because the appellant failed to pay the advance on costs despite a deadline and an additional statutory grace period. The complaint was therefore inadmissible under Art. 108 BGG. The court also ordered the appellant to pay court costs of CHF 800 pursuant to Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG.
Art. 108 BGG; failure to pay the advance on costs after warning and expiry of the set deadline leads to non-entry on the appeal. Where the appellant does not comply with the order to pay the advance, the court may decide in summary procedure without examining the merits. Court costs are borne by the unsuccessful party pursuant to Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG.

Der Einzelrichter zieht in Erwägung:

Dem Beschwerdeführer wurden mit Verfügungen vom 20. November und 19. Dezember 2012 eine Frist und die gesetzlich vorgeschriebene Nachfrist bis zum 16. Januar 2013 angesetzt, um dem Bundesgericht einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 2'000.-- einzuzahlen, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde. Der Kostenvorschuss wurde nicht geleistet. Androhungsgemäss ist auf die Beschwerde im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).
Demnach erkennt der Einzelrichter:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Aargau, Strafgericht, 2. Kammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.

Whether the complaint could be entered into despite non-payment of the advance on costs.
No. Because the advance on costs was not paid within the time limit and additional period, the court would not consider the complaint under Art. 108 BGG.
The appellant had been warned that failure to pay the CHF 2,000 advance by 2013-01-16 would lead to non-entry. As payment was not made, the complaint had to be dismissed at the admissibility stage.
Allocation of court costs.
The court costs were imposed on the appellant.
Under Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG, the losing party bears the costs.
