The appellant challenged a cantonal judgment in an accident-insurance matter before the Federal Supreme Court, but did not pay the ordered advance on costs even after a grace period. The request for legal aid had previously been denied as hopeless. The court therefore issued a simplified non-entry decision and refused to consider the appeal. Although the appellant was in principle liable for costs, the court waived the collection of judicial costs. The judgment was notified to the parties, the cantonal court, and the Federal Office of Public Health.

in die Verfügung vom 7. November 2008 mit welcher M.________ zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses bis zum 1. Dezember 2008 aufgefordert wurde,
in die Verfügung vom 4. Dezember 2008, mit welcher das Gesuch des M.________ um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege vom 13. November 2008 zufolge Aussichtslosigkeit abgewiesen wurde,
in die Verfügung vom 11. Dezember 2008, mit welcher M.________ zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses innert einer Nachfrist bis zum 14. Januar 2009 verpflichtet wurde, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde,

in Erwägung,
dass der Beschwerdeführer den Vorschuss innerhalb der Nachfrist nicht geleistet hat,
dass deshalb gestützt auf Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist,
dass die Eingabe des Beschwerdeführers vom 26. Dezember 2008, worin die Unmöglichkeit der Bezahlung des Vorschusses geltend gemacht wird, mit Blick auf die Abweisung der unentgeltlichen Rechtspflege zufolge Aussichtslosigkeit nicht zu einem anderen Ergebnis führt,
dass der Beschwerdeführer nach Art. 66 Abs. 1 und 3 BGG grundsätzlich kostenpflichtig ist, wobei vorliegend auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet wird,
erkennt das Bundesgericht:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Verwaltungsgericht des Kantons Graubünden und dem Bundesamt für Gesundheit schriftlich mitgeteilt.
