The appellant challenged a decision of the St. Gallen Insurance Court in an invalidity insurance matter. The Federal Supreme Court had previously ordered him to pay an advance on costs by 5 March 2012, warning that failure to comply would lead to non-entry. As the advance was still unpaid after the deadline, the Court, in simplified procedure, did not enter into the complaint. Given the circumstances, it also waived the imposition of judicial costs.

in die Verfügung vom 23. Februar 2012, mit welcher B.________ zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses innert einer Nachfrist bis zum 5. März 2012 verpflichtet wurde, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde,
in Erwägung,
dass der Beschwerdeführer den Vorschuss auch innerhalb der Nachfrist nicht geleistet hat,
dass deshalb gestützt auf Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist und in Anwendung von Art. 66 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGG umständehalber auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet wird,
erkennt der Präsident:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Versicherungsgericht des Kantons St. Gallen und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen schriftlich mitgeteilt.
