The Federal Supreme Court held that the appellant's submissions against the cantonal disability-insurance judgment did not satisfy the minimum requirements for an appeal. He merely repeated the argument that he had been unable to work since 2003 and failed to explain why the lower court's factual findings were wrong or its legal reasoning unlawful. The court therefore refused to enter into the appeal under the simplified procedure and imposed court costs of CHF 200 on the appellant.

Costs are imposed on the unsuccessful appellant under Art. 66 BGG.

in das Schreiben des Bundesgerichts vom 30. Oktober 2008 an M.________, wonach die Beschwerde die gesetzlichen Formerfordernisse hinsichtlich Antrag und Begründung nicht zu erfüllen scheine und eine Verbesserung nur innert der Beschwerdefrist möglich sei,
in die daraufhin von M.________ am 31. Oktober 2008 (Poststempel) eingereichte Eingabe,

in Erwägung,
dass ein Rechtsmittel gemäss Art. 42 Abs. 1 und 2 BGG unter anderem die Begehren und deren Begründung zu enthalten hat, wobei in der Begründung in gedrängter Form darzulegen ist, inwiefern der angefochtene Akt Recht verletzt,
dass die beiden Eingaben des Beschwerdeführers diesen inhaltlichen Mindestanforderungen nicht genügen, da sich der Beschwerdeführer darauf beschränkt, das bereits im kantonalen Beschwerdeverfahren vorgebrachte Argument zu wiederholen, er sei seit dem Jahre 2003 arbeitsunfähig, seinen Ausführungen aber nicht entnommen werden kann, inwiefern die Sachverhaltsfeststellung der Vorinstanz im Sinne von Art. 97 Abs. 1 BGG - soweit überhaupt beanstandet - unzutreffend und die darauf beruhenden Erwägungen rechtsfehlerhaft sein sollen,
dass deshalb im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist und der Beschwerdeführer nach Art. 66 Abs. 1 und 3 BGG kostenpflichtig wird,

erkennt der Präsident:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 200.- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Sozialversicherungsgericht des Kantons Zürich und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen schriftlich mitgeteilt.
