The Local Court of Altena appointed the ward’s daughter, U, as guardian. Her responsibilities include representing the ward before authorities, social-insurance bodies, and other institutions; healthcare; managing mail and financial matters; and revoking a bank account power of attorney dated 3 August 2017. The court also ordered her to account for the ward’s assets and comply with asset-deposit and restriction duties. It must review whether the guardianship should be terminated or extended by 15 October 2024. The order is effective immediately.
Under §§ 1853 and 1854 BGB, a guardianship order may impose duties concerning the handling and supervision of the ward’s assets, including depositing or restricting assets and rendering accounts. The guardian’s assigned areas of responsibility define the scope of authority conferred by the appointment. The court must set a date by which it will review whether the guardianship should be terminated or extended.

Das Gericht wird spätestens am 15.10.2024 über die Aufhebung oder Verlängerung der Betreuung entscheiden.
Diese Entscheidung ist sofort wirksam.
