COURT OF APPEALS EIGHTH DISTRICT OF TEXAS EL PASO, TEXAS ———————————— No. 08-26-00342-CV ———————————— In the Interest of T.J.C., a Child On Appeal from the County Court at Law No 5 El Paso County, Texas Trial Court No. 2024DCM2518 O R DE R Appellant has filed a combined motion for extension of time to file her appellate brief, motion to reschedule oral argument, and motion for redaction. First, the appellate record for this appeal is currently due on November 11, 2026. Appellant’s brief will not be due until 30 days after the complete appellate record is filed. Tex. R. App. P. 38.6(a). Because no brief is due, we DENY the motion for extension of time. Second, this appeal has not been set for oral argument, and we DENY the motion to reschedule.
2 Third, Appellant has moved to redact information in this case and states that she requires clarification about this Court’s “redaction protocol.”1 Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.9 provides for the protection of sensitive data in a civil case. Sensitive data includes a driver’s license number, passport number, social security number, tax identification number or similar government-issued personal identification number; a bank account number, credit card number, or other financial account number; and a birthdate, home address, and the name of any person who was a minor when the underlying suit was filed. Tex. R. App. P. 9.9(a)(1)–(3). “Unless the inclusion of sensitive data is specifically required by statute, court rule, or administrative regulation, an electronic or paper document containing sensitive data may not be filed with a court unless the sensitive data is redacted, except for the record in an appeal[.] Id. 9.9(b). Any filings containing sensitive data must be redacted “using the letter ‘X’ in place of each omitted digit or character or by removing the sensitive data in a manner indicating that the data has been redacted.” Id. 9.9(c). To the extent that Appellant seeks permission to redact information not protected by Rule 9 of the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure in any future filings, the motion is DENIED. IT IS SO ORDERED this 20th day of October 2026. __________________________________________ MARIA SALAS MENDOZA, Chief Justice 1 As we understand the motion, Appellant seeks to redact additional information that is not protected by Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.9 or otherwise protected by a court order.
