NAC Chapter 556 — Garlic and Onions

NAC 556.010 Definitions.

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:

1. “Advisory board” has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 556.010.

2. “Department” has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 556.010.

3. “Grower” has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 556.010.

NAC 556.020 Recommendation for appointment to advisory board by Nevada garlic and onion growers’ council.

1. The Nevada garlic and onion growers’ council may, by majority vote, recommend a person for appointment to the advisory board. The person recommended for appointment must be qualified pursuant to NRS 556.020.

2. To recommend a person for appointment to the advisory board, the Nevada garlic and onion growers’ council must submit to the state board of agriculture:

(a) The name and address of the person recommended for appointment;

(b) A statement concerning the qualifications of the person; and

(c) A copy of the minutes of the meeting at which the Nevada garlic and onion growers’ council voted to make the recommendation.

NAC 556.030 Recommendations regarding annual special assessment and expenditures from account.

1. The advisory board may submit a recommendation concerning the amount of the annual special assessment which the department is required to fix pursuant to NRS 556.070. A majority of the members of the advisory board must approve the recommendation before it is submitted to the state board of agriculture.

2. The advisory board may recommend that an expenditure be made from the garlic and onion research and promotion account created pursuant to NRS 561.423.

3. A recommendation made pursuant to this section must be submitted to the state board of agriculture with a copy of the minutes of the meeting of the advisory board at which its members voted to make the recommendation.
