AN ACT

Relating to certain Children's Homes.

Section 1. Commitment of children to certain institutions

It shall and may be lawful for any judge, mayor, alderman or justice of the peace of the City of Philadelphia, to indenture, bind or commit to the St. John's Orphan Asylum, or the St. Vincent's Home, located in the City of Philadelphia, orphan, destitute, abandoned or vagrant children. 1862, April 16, P.L. 538, Sec. 1.

Compiler's Note: Section 28 of Act 207 of 2004 provided that any and all references in any other law to a "district justice" or "justice of the peace" shall be deemed to be references to a magisterial district judge.
