X. AG filed a public-law appeal to the Federal Supreme Court against the cantonal judgment in a building-permit dispute, but then withdrew the appeal on 21 August 2008. The Court therefore struck the proceedings off the docket. In accordance with the parties' agreement and Art. 66 BGG, the appellant was ordered to pay CHF 500 in court costs, and no party compensation was awarded.
Art. 71 BGG in conjunction with the general rules on costs; withdrawal of the appeal. Where the appellant withdraws the appeal, the proceedings are discontinued and struck off the docket. As a rule, the withdrawing appellant bears the court costs pursuant to Art. 66 BGG, unless special reasons justify a different allocation. If the parties agree to waive party compensation, none is awarded.

dass die Beschwerdeführerin mit Schreiben vom 21. August 2008 ihre Beschwerde vom 27. Februar 2008 zurückgezogen hat;
dass die privaten Parteien übereingekommen sind, die bundesgerichtlichen Abschreibungskosten der Beschwerdeführerin zu überbinden und auf die Zusprechung einer Parteientschädigung zu verzichten;
dass das Beschwerdeverfahren somit als durch Beschwerderückzug erledigt abzuschreiben ist;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin die Gerichtskosten zu tragen hat (Art. 66 BGG);
dass keine Parteientschädigungen zuzusprechen sind;
verfügt der Präsident:

Das Verfahren 1C_97/2008 wird infolge Rückzugs der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.

Es werden keine Parteientschädigungen zugesprochen.

Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien, dem Hochbau- und Planungsausschuss Männedorf, der Baurekurskommission II und dem Verwaltungsgericht des Kantons Zürich, 1. Abteilung, 1. Kammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
