The appellant company challenged a cantonal judgment in a tenancy dispute but did not pay the required advance on costs. After extensions of the deadline, counsel informed the Federal Supreme Court that the advance had still not been paid and requested discontinuance. The court construed this letter as a withdrawal of the appeal, struck the proceedings off the docket, imposed reduced court costs of CHF 300 on the appellant, and denied any party compensation to the respondents.
Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG, Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG, Art. 66 Abs. 2 and 3 BGG; when an appellant clearly indicates that it no longer pursues the appeal, the submission may be treated as a withdrawal, and the proceedings are struck off without setting an additional time limit for payment of the advance on costs. In such a case, the withdrawing party bears the reduced court costs; party compensation is not awarded if the opposing party incurred no compensable expense in the federal proceedings.

In Erwägung,
dass die Beschwerdeführerin den Entscheid des Kantonsgerichts Luzern vom 26. März 2014 mit Rechtsschrift vom 28. April 2014 beim Bundesgericht anfocht;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin mit Verfügung vom 30. April 2014 aufgefordert wurde, bis zum 15. Mai 2014 einen Kostenvorschuss von Fr. 1'000.-- zu zahlen;
dass die Zahlungsfrist auf Gesuch der Beschwerdeführerin zuerst bis zum 20. Mai 2014 und danach bis zum 23. Mai 2014 erstreckt wurde;
dass der Rechtsvertreter der Beschwerdeführerin mit Schreiben vom 25. Mai 2014 mitteilte, er habe soeben erfahren, dass der Kostenvorschuss nicht bezahlt worden sei, und um Abschreibung des Verfahrens bat;
dass das Schreiben sinngemäss als Rückzug der Beschwerde zu verstehen ist, weshalb keine Nachfrist zur Zahlung des Kostenvorschusses gemäss Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG angesetzt werden muss;
dass das bundesgerichtliche Verfahren gemäss Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG abgeschrieben werden kann;
dass die reduzierten Gerichtskosten der Beschwerdeführerin aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 2 und 3 BGG);
dass den Beschwerdegegnern keine Parteientschädigung zuzusprechen ist, da ihnen aus dem bundesgerichtlichen Verfahren kein Aufwand erwachsen ist;
Das Verfahren wird infolge Rückzugs der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 300.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.
Es wird keine Parteientschädigung zugesprochen.
Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien und dem Kantonsgericht Luzern, 1. Abteilung, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
