The appellant withdrew her civil appeal after the Federal Supreme Court had rejected her request for full legal aid and ordered an advance on costs. The President of the First Civil Law Court took note of the withdrawal, struck the case from the docket, and fixed judicial costs at CHF 200, payable by the appellant. The order was communicated to counsel for all parties and to the cantonal appellate court.
Art. 32 al. 2 LTF; withdrawal of the appeal renders the proceedings moot and justifies striking the case from the docket. Upon withdrawal, the Federal Supreme Court notes the withdrawal without examining the merits. Judicial costs are borne by the appellant in accordance with Art. 65 and 66 LTF, unless special circumstances justify a different allocation.

l'ordonnance du 22 novembre 2007 par laquelle la Ire Cour de droit civil a rejeté cette requête;
l'ordonnance présidentielle du 29 novembre 2007 invitant la recourante à verser une avance de frais de 2'500 fr. jusqu'au 14 décembre 2007, puis, par prolongation de délai accordée le 17 décembre 2007, jusqu'au 14 janvier 2008;
la lettre du 14 janvier 2008 par laquelle le mandataire de la recourante déclare retirer le recours;
considérant:
qu'il y a lieu de prendre acte de ce retrait et de rayer la cause du rôle (art. 32 al. 2 LTF);
que la recourante supporte les frais judiciaires (art. 65 al. 1 et 3 let. b et 66 al. 2 et 3 LTF);
par ces motifs, le Président ordonne:

Il est pris acte du retrait du recours en matière civile.

La cause 4A_318/2007 est rayée du rôle.
3.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 200 fr., sont mis à la charge de la recourante.

La présente ordonnance est communiquée en copie aux mandataires des parties et à la Chambre des recours du Tribunal cantonal du can-ton de Vaud.
