The appellant appealed a Zurich civil judgment in a dispute over daily insurance benefits and requested legal aid. The Federal Supreme Court denied legal aid, ordered an advance on costs, granted an extension and then a grace period, but the appellant still did not pay. The Court therefore did not enter on the appeal. It imposed federal court costs of CHF 1,000 on the appellant and awarded no party compensation to the respondent.
Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG; non-payment of the advance on costs after expiry of the extended deadline leads to non-entry on the appeal. If the appellant does not satisfy the advance despite a grace period, the Federal Supreme Court decides by summary order under Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG. Court costs are borne by the losing party pursuant to Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG; no party compensation is awarded where the respondent has incurred no compensable expense.

Die Präsidentin hat in Erwägung,
dass die Beschwerdeführerin am 2. Dezember 2011 Beschwerde in Zivilsachen gegen das Urteil des Obergerichts des Kantons Zürich vom 25. Oktober 2011 erhob und gleichzeitig das Gesuch stellte, es sei ihr für das bundesgerichtliche Verfahren die unentgeltliche Rechtspflege zu gewähren;
dass das Bundesgericht dieses Gesuch mit Verfügung vom 11. September 2012 abwies und der Beschwerdeführerin am 13. September 2012 Frist zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses von Fr. 8'000.-- ansetzte;
dass die Beschwerdeführerin, nachdem ihr bereits am 1. Oktober 2012 eine Fristverlängerung gewährt worden war, den ihr auferlegten Kostenvorschuss auch innerhalb der mit Verfügung vom 24. Oktober 2012 angesetzten Nachfrist nicht geleistet hat, weshalb gestützt auf Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist;
dass die Kosten des bundesgerichtlichen Verfahrens der Beschwerdeführerin aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
dass der Beschwerdegegnerin keine Parteientschädigung zuzusprechen ist, da ihr durch das bundesgerichtliche Verfahren kein Aufwand erwachsen ist;
im Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a BGG erkannt:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 1'000.-- werden der Beschwerdeführerin auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, I. Zivilkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
