In Erwägung,
dass das Kreisgericht Rheintal die Aberkennungsklage des Beschwerdeführers auf Feststellung, dass die Forderung des Beschwerdegegners auf Zahlung der Darlehenszinse von Fr. 19'108.35 nicht besteht, mit Entscheid vom 21. Februar 2007 abwies;
dass das Kantonsgericht St. Gallen die vom Beschwerdeführer gegen dieses Urteil erhobene Berufung mit Entscheid vom 29. Oktober 2007 abwies;
dass der Beschwerdeführer dem Bundesgericht eine vom 10. Dezember 2007 datierte Eingabe einreichte, in der er erklärte, den Entscheid des Kantonsgerichts vom 29. Oktober 2007 mit "Beschwerde und gleichzeitiger Verfassungsbeschwerde" anfechten zu wollen;
dass die Beschwerde in Zivilsachen nach Art. 72 ff. BGG angesichts der Höhe der streitigen Forderung im vorliegenden Fall unzulässig ist (Art. 74 Abs. 1 BGG) und nicht geltend gemacht wird, dass die Beschwerde dennoch zulässig sei, weil sich eine Rechtsfrage von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung im Sinne von Art. 74 Abs. 2 lit. a BGG stellen würde;
dass die Eingabe des Beschwerdeführers unter diesen Umständen als subsidiäre Verfassungsbeschwerde im Sinne der Art. 113 ff. BGG zu behandeln ist;
dass in einer solchen Beschwerde dargelegt werden muss, welche bundesrechtlichen Grundrechte oder kantonalen verfassungsmässigen Rechte durch das kantonale Gericht verletzt worden sind, und solche Rügen unter Bezugnahme auf die Erwägungen des angefochtenen Entscheides zu begründen sind (Art. 42 Abs. 2 und Art. 106 Abs. 2 in Verbindung mit Art. 117 BGG);
dass die Eingabe des Beschwerdeführers vom 10. Dezember 2007 diesen Anforderungen nicht genügt, weil die damit erhobenen Rügen einerseits zu pauschal formuliert sind und andererseits nicht gesagt wird, welche einzelnen Vorschriften der Verfassung des Bundes oder des Kantons vom Kantonsgericht verletzt worden sein sollen;
dass damit auf die Beschwerde mangels hinreichender Begründung nicht einzutreten (Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG);
dass das Gesuch um aufschiebende Wirkung mit dem Entscheid in der Sache selbst gegenstandslos wird;
dass unter den gegebenen Umständen auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten zu verzichten ist (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG), womit das Gesuch um Befreiung von diesen Kosten gegenstandslos wird;
dass das Gesuch um Beiordnung eines unentgeltlichen Rechtsbeistandes wegen Aussichtslosigkeit der Beschwerde abzuweisen ist (Art. 64 Abs. 1 BGG);

erkennt der Präsident:

Das Gesuch um Beiordnung eines unentgeltlichen Rechtsbeistandes wird abgewiesen.

2.
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.

3.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.

4.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Kantonsgericht St. Gallen, III. Zivilkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
