The appellant challenged a presidential order of the Zug Cantonal Court concerning suspensive effect, but withdrew the federal appeal by letter of 23 September 2008. The President of the II Civil Division of the Federal Supreme Court therefore struck the proceedings off the docket. Costs of CHF 300 were charged to the appellant. The decision was communicated to both parties and to the cantonal court.
Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG; Art. 71 BGG i.V.m. Art. 73 BZP; withdrawal of the appeal in federal proceedings. If the appellant withdraws the appeal, the presiding judge may strike the proceedings off the docket without a merits decision. The withdrawal renders the appeal proceedings moot; no substantive review of the challenged decision takes place. The costs are borne by the withdrawing party in accordance with the general costs rules (consid. 1).

Art. 73 BZP) und die Kosten dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 71 BGG i.V.m. Art. 5 Abs. 2 BZP, Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG),
verfügt der Präsident:

Das Verfahren wird als durch Rückzug der Beschwerde erledigt abgeschrieben.

Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 300.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zug schriftlich mitgeteilt.

The proceedings were discontinued and struck off because the appellant withdrew the appeal.
