The appellant challenged a cantonal criminal judgment before the Federal Supreme Court, but the complaint was filed after the 30-day deadline. Because service of the cantonal judgment occurred during the statutory suspension period, the time limit began only on 2013-01-03 and expired on 2013-02-01. The filing on 2013-02-04 was therefore late. The single judge did not enter into the appeal and ordered the appellant to pay CHF 800 in court costs.

Der Einzelrichter zieht in Erwägung:

Eine Beschwerde ans Bundesgericht ist innert 30 Tagen nach der Eröffnung der vollständigen Ausfertigung des angefochtenen Entscheids einzureichen (Art. 100 Abs. 1 BGG). Der angefochtene Entscheid wurde dem Beschwerdeführer gemäss Empfangsbestätigung am 19. Dezember 2012 und somit innerhalb des Fristenstillstandes von Art. 46 Abs. 1 lit. c BGG zugestellt. Die Frist begann folglich am 3. Januar 2013 zu laufen (Art. 44 Abs. 1 BGG; BGE 135 III 324, unveröffentlichte E. 1 mit Hinweisen) und endete am 1. Februar 2013. Die Beschwerde vom 4. Februar 2013 ist verspätet. Darauf ist im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).
Demnach erkennt der Einzelrichter:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Aargau, Strafgericht, 3. Kammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
