The Federal Supreme Court declined to enter into a criminal complaint against three non-prosecution decisions for coercion. It held that the complainant, as a private complainant, failed to substantiate standing because he did not show any civil claim affected by the cantonal decisions and did not explain the point before the Court. The request for free legal aid was rejected as the complaint was hopeless. Court costs of CHF 500 were imposed on the complainant, reduced in light of his financial circumstances.
Art. 81 Abs. 1 lit. b Ziff. 5 BGG; standing of the private complainant in criminal matters against non-prosecution or discontinuance decisions: admissibility requires that the challenged decision may affect civil claims, and the appellant must, in principle, specify in the federal complaint which civil claims are concerned and how they are affected. The Federal Supreme Court applies strict reasoning requirements in this respect (consid. 1). Absent such substantiation, the complaint is inadmissible under Art. 108 BGG. A request for legal aid under Art. 64 BGG fails where the appeal lacks prospects of success; costs may nevertheless be moderated under Art. 65 Abs. 2 BGG and imposed on the unsuccessful appellant under Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG.

Die Staatsanwaltschaft Basel-Landschaft nahm am 27. Juni 2013 drei Strafverfahren nicht an die Hand, welche der Beschwerdeführer gegen drei Personen wegen Nötigung eingeleitet hatte. Dagegen gerichtete Beschwerden wies das Kantonsgericht Basel-Landschaft am 29. Oktober 2013 ab. Der Beschwerdeführer beantragt beim Bundesgericht, die Staatsanwaltschaft sei anzuweisen, das Verfahren an die Hand zu nehmen.
Der Privatkläger ist zur Erhebung einer Beschwerde in Strafsachen nur legitimiert, wenn der angefochtene Entscheid sich auf die Beurteilung seiner Zivilansprüche auswirken kann (Art. 81 Abs. 1 lit. b Ziff. 5 BGG). Dies verlangt grundsätzlich von ihm, dass er adhäsionsweise Zivilforderungen geltend gemacht hat. Auf dieses Erfordernis kann bei Nichtanhandnahme oder Einstellung des Strafverfahrens verzichtet werden. Indessen ist erforderlich, dass der Privatkläger im Verfahren vor Bundesgericht darlegt, aus welchen Gründen sich der angefochtene Entscheid inwiefern auf welche Zivilforderung auswirken kann, Das Bundesgericht stellt insoweit strenge Anforderungen (BGE 127 IV 185 E. 1a; Urteil 1B_695/2012 vom 14. Februar 2013 E. 1.2).
Den angefochtenen Entscheiden und der Beschwerde ist nicht zu entnehmen, dass der Beschwerdeführer im kantonalen Verfahren eine Zivilforderung gestellt hätte. In der Eingabe ans Bundesgericht äussert er sich zur Frage der Legitimation nicht. Insbesondere führt er nicht aus, inwieweit es um welche Zivilforderung gehen könnte. Mangels hinreichender Begründung der Legitimation ist auf die Beschwerde im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.
Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG). Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege ist in Anwendung von Art. 64 BGG abzuweisen, weil die Rechtsbegehren aussichtslos erschienen. Der finanziellen Lage des Beschwerdeführers ist bei der Bemessung der Gerichtskosten Rechnung zu tragen (Art. 65 Abs. 2 BGG).
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege wird abgewiesen.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Kantonsgericht Basel-Landschaft, Abteilung Strafrecht, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
