The Federal Supreme Court dealt with a complaint against a Bern appellate judgment convicting the appellant of repeatedly driving while his license had been revoked and sentencing him to 360 hours of community service, partly as a supplementary sentence. Most submissions were unrelated to the challenged judgment and therefore not examined. The bias allegation failed because judges' membership in the judicial system does not create an appearance of partiality. The appellant's reliance on Arts. 54 and 52 StGB was rejected: the asserted personal disadvantages did not justify waiving punishment and the guilt was not negligible. The complaint was dismissed insofar as admissible, legal aid was denied, and costs of CHF 800 were imposed.

Art. 52 StGB presupposes negligible guilt. Legal aid is refused where the appeal is manifestly hopeless; costs are allocated to the unsuccessful party, taking financial capacity into account.

Das Bundesgericht zieht in Erwägung:

Das Obergericht des Kantons Bern erklärte den Beschwerdeführer mit Urteil vom 16. April 2010 des Fahrens trotz entzogenen Führerausweises schuldig, mehrfach begangen in der Zeit vom 17. März 2006 bis 8. Februar 2008 in Thun und anderswo, und verurteilte ihn zu 360 Stunden gemeinnütziger Arbeit, teilweise als Zusatzstrafe zu einer früheren Verurteilung vom 15. März 2007.
In einer Beschwerde ans Bundesgericht muss dargelegt werden, inwiefern der angefochtene Akt das Recht im Sinne von Art. 95 BGG verletzt. Die meisten Teile der Beschwerde befassen sich nicht mit dem angefochtenen Entscheid. So macht der Beschwerdeführer zum Beispiel geltend, dass es gegen die Verfassung verstiesse, wenn er - hypothetisch - verhaftet würde (Beschwerde S. 2). Auf solche Vorbringen, die mit dem angefochtenen Entscheid nichts zu tun haben, ist nicht einzutreten.
Sinngemäss wirft der Beschwerdeführer den Oberrichtern Befangenheit vor, denn sie seien zusammen mit den Richtern der ersten Instanz "Bestandteil der Gegenpartei" (Beschwerde S. 4). Der Umstand, dass Richter immer Mitglieder des Justizapparates sind, vermag indessen für sich nicht den Anschein der Befangenheit zu begründen.
Der Beschwerdeführer beruft sich auf die Art. 54 und 52 StGB (Beschwerde S. 2/3). Es ist fraglich, ob es sich bei diesem Vorbringen nicht um ein unzulässiges Novum handelt. Aber die Umstände, dass der Beschwerdeführer Aufträge und Arbeitseinsätze verliert, dass seine Weiterbildung eingeschränkt ist und dass er nach einer Verurteilung einen schlechteren Leumund hat, stellen keine Gründe dafür dar, in Anwendung von Art. 54 StGB von einer Strafe abzusehen. Sein Verschulden ist auch nicht derart geringfügig, dass ein Anwendungsfall von Art. 52 StGB vorläge.
Die Beschwerde ist im Verfahren nach Art. 109 BGG abzuweisen, soweit darauf einzutreten ist.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG). Das nachträglich gestellte Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege ist in Anwendung von Art. 64 BGG abzuweisen, weil die Rechtsbegehren aussichtslos erschienen. Der finanziellen Lage des Beschwerdeführers ist bei der Bemessung der Gerichtsgebühr Rechnung zu tragen (Art. 65 Abs. 2 BGG).
Demnach erkennt das Bundesgericht:

Die Beschwerde wird abgewiesen, soweit darauf einzutreten ist.
2.
Das Gesuch um unentgeltliche Rechtspflege wird abgewiesen.
3.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
4.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Bern, 2. Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
