Das Bundesgericht zieht in Erwägung:

Als der Beschwerdeführer bei der Bank B.________ vorsprach und verschiedene gefälschte Dokumente vorlegte, konnten diese polizeilich sichergestellt werden. Das Obergericht des Kantons Zürich beschloss am 1. Juli 2008 im Rekursverfahren, die sichergestellten Bankunterlagen, Kontoauszüge und Metallbarren würden definitiv eingezogen und der Kantonspolizei zur gutscheinenden Verwendung überlassen.

Der Beschwerdeführer wendet sich an das Bundesgericht und beantragt, die verfügte Beschlagnahme und Einziehung der beschwerdebezogenen Gegenstände aufzuheben und zu verfügen, dass diese dem Beschwerdeführer herauszugeben seien.

Der Beschwerdeführer bemängelt nur E. III.2.2. des angefochtenen Entscheids (Beschwerde S. 2). In Anwendung von Art. 109 Abs. 3 BGG kann auf diese Erwägung verwiesen werden (angefochtener Entscheid S. 8/9). Was daran gegen das schweizerische Recht im Sinne von Art. 95 BGG verstossen könnte, ist nicht ersichtlich. Das Vorbringen des Beschwerdeführers, die beschlagnahmten Gegenstände seien von ihm der Bank nur deshalb vorgewiesen worden, "um allfällige Rechtsbeziehungen zwischen dem Beschwerdeführer und der B.________ zu erörtern" (Beschwerde S. 2), ist angesichts des Umstands, dass die Gegenstände unbestrittenermassen gefälscht sind, abwegig. Ein vernünftiger und legaler Verwendungszweck gefälschter Bankunterlagen ist schlichtweg nicht ersichtlich. Die Beschwerde ist im Verfahren nach Art. 109 BGG abzuweisen.

Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).

Demnach erkennt das Bundesgericht:

Die Beschwerde wird abgewiesen.

Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 2'000.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, III. Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
