X.________ filed a criminal-law appeal against the decision of the Bezirksgericht Winterthur, Einzelrichter in Strafsachen, concerning an administrative fine and alleged violation of the right to be heard. By letter of 22 July 2009, he withdrew the appeal. The President of the Criminal Division of the Federal Supreme Court therefore ordered the case struck from the docket and decided that no costs would be charged. The decision was communicated to the parties and to the lower court.
