The appellant challenged a cantonal decision refusing to open criminal proceedings for false accusation, unlawful deprivation of liberty and extortion. Eine Beschwerde ans Bundesgericht ist innert 30 Tagen nach der Eröffnung der vollständigen Ausfertigung des angefochtenen Entscheids einzureichen (Art. 100 Abs. 1 BGG).
Der Beschwerdeführer gibt unter Hinweis auf das von ihm dem Bundesgericht eingereichte Exemplar des angefochtenen Entscheids an, er habe diesen am 25. Juni 2013 erhalten (Beschwerde S. 13 Ziff. 19). Dieses Datum trägt auch der Eingangsstempel des Anwaltsbüros auf dem Urteil (act. 1 S. 1).
Massgebend ist indessen nicht der Eingangsstempel des Anwaltsbüros, sondern die Empfangsbestätigung der Post. Dieser ist zu entnehmen, dass der angefochtene Entscheid einer bevollmächtigten Empfangsperson am 21. Juni 2013 ausgehändigt wurde.
Unter diesen Umständen und unter Berücksichtigung des Fristenstillstandes von Art. 46 Abs. 1 lit. b BGG lief die Beschwerdefrist am 22. August 2013, einem Donnerstag, ab. Die Beschwerde vom 26. August 2013 ist verspätet. Darauf ist im Verfahren nach Art. 108 BGG nicht einzutreten.
Die Gerichtskosten sind dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG).
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 800.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, III. Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
