The Federal Supreme Court dealt with an appeal in a social insurance matter against a cantonal order concerning an advance on costs. After the appellant was required to pay CHF 1,000 within an additional 10-day deadline published in the Federal Gazette, he still did not pay. The court therefore held that the appeal could not be entertained and issued a non-entry decision in simplified proceedings. It also waived court costs.
Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG; non-payment of the advance on costs after expiry of the additional deadline leads to non-entry on the appeal. The consequence follows in simplified proceedings under Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a and Abs. 2 BGG, without examination of the merits. If the circumstances so warrant, the Federal Supreme Court may refrain from levying court costs pursuant to Art. 66 Abs. 1 second sentence BGG.

in die Verfügung vom 17. September 2013, publiziert im Bundesblatt Nr. 36 vom 17. September 2013 (BBl 2013 7054) und zusätzlich auf postalischem Weg mitgeteilt, mit welcher K.________ zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses von Fr. 1'000.- innert einer Nachfrist von 10 Tagen, gerechnet ab Publikation im Bundesblatt, verpflichtet wurde, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde,
in Erwägung,
dass der Beschwerdeführer den Vorschuss auch innerhalb der Nachfrist nicht geleistet hat,
dass deshalb gestützt auf Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a und Abs. 2 BGG auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist und in Anwendung von Art. 66 Abs. 1 Satz 2 BGG auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet wird,
erkennt der Einzelrichter:
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Sozialversicherungsgericht des Kantons Zürich und dem Bundesamt für Gesundheit schriftlich mitgeteilt.
