The appellant withdrew his federal appeal in an invalidity-insurance denial-of-justice case. The Federal Supreme Court therefore struck the case from the roll pursuant to the Federal Supreme Court Act and the Code of Civil Procedure. It ordered that no judicial costs be charged, which rendered the pending request for legal aid moot. The order was communicated to the parties, the cantonal invalidity insurance office, and the Federal Social Insurance Office.
Art. 32 al. 2 LTF, art. 71 LTF in conjunction with art. 73 al. 1 PCF; withdrawal of the appeal. Upon valid withdrawal of the appeal, the Federal Supreme Court removes the case from the roll without examining the merits. If no judicial costs are levied under art. 66 al. 2 LTF, a pending request for legal aid becomes moot. The procedural consequence follows ex lege and is decided by order (consid. 1-2).

la décision du 30 mars 2010 par laquelle l'Office de l'assurance-invalidité du canton de Fribourg a dénié à S.________ le droit à des mesures professionnelles,
le recours formé le 10 mai 2010 par le prénommé contre cette décision devant le Tribunal cantonal du canton de Fribourg, Cour des assurances sociales,
l'écriture du 4 octobre 2012 par laquelle S.________ a saisi le Tribunal fédéral d'un recours pour déni de justice, en concluant à ce que le tribunal cantonal fût condamné à statuer,
la lettre du 27 novembre 2012 par laquelle S.________ a déclaré retirer le recours,
considérant:
que la cause doit être rayée du rôle en application des art. 32 al. 2 et 71 LTF, en relation avec l'art. 73 al. 1 PCF,
qu'il se justifie en appliquant l'art. 66 al. 2 LTF de statuer sans frais judiciaires, ce qui rend la demande d'assistance judiciaire déposée par le recourant sans objet,
par ces motifs, le Juge unique ordonne:

La cause est radiée du rôle par suite de retrait du recours.
2.
Il n'est pas perçu de frais judiciaires.
3.
La présente ordonnance est communiquée aux parties, à l'Office de l'assurance-invalidité du canton de Fribourg et à l'Office fédéral des assurances sociales.

Yes. The case was struck from the roll following the appellant's withdrawal of the appeal.
Once the appellant declared the appeal withdrawn, the proceedings had to be terminated by removal from the docket under the applicable provisions.
Whether judicial costs should be charged and whether legal aid remained necessary
No judicial costs were levied, and the legal-aid request became moot.
Given the withdrawal and the decision to proceed without court costs, there was no need to rule on legal aid.
